‘Collisions of improvisation and chance have been used to a great extent in these works, with a sense of energy being created by marks that seem to be extensions of a overstimulated nervous system.

In these images order is broken down, perceptions twisted and overwhelmed. Physical orientation or a sense of weight are rarely present as an anchor. Structured underpaintings are almost entirely obliterated by frenzied, clawing marks. The eye is left stranded in a maze of overlapping depths and blurred and sharp edges.’
